For September our Artist of the Month was Jackson Pollock. We had fun reading the book "Olivia" by Ian Falconer where she visits a Museum, sees a Jackson Pollock Splatter painting and is just sure she can paint one just like his, which she then tries on her bedroom wall at home.
We then had fun getting to do splatter painting outside (without getting in trouble after the fact!) and creating our own Jackson Pollock creations. It's always fun to see what we create. As you will see some of the kids decided that the splattering wasn't having the complete effect they wanted so they added a few brush strokes as well! :) Here are our results
