A month of Dr. Seuss

Rainbow Color books

For our color books the children drew one color of the rainbow on each page and then looked for pictures from magazines that matched each color. The older children wrote the names of the colors on each page. This was a more challenging project for our little group but they were good sports and worked really hard!

Making Green Eggs

Green Eggs!

I think everyone tried and enjoyed the green eggs surprisingly

The Week before St. Patrick's Day we learned about Rainbows. And we had fun creating a rainbow of our own in the classroom using objects around the room. This is what we came up with!
We tested our balance when we tried to be like the Cat in the Hat and stand on one foot while holding different objects in our hands!
Learning about Patterns and making our own Dr. Seuss Hats

Playing a Dr. Suess version of Duck Duck Goose: Cat, Cat, HAT!

March was our month of Dr. Seuss. We have had fun reading "The Cat in the Hat" and "One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish", "Green Eggs and Ham", "My Many Colored Days", and Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?". We've learned about patterns as we've created our own "Cat in The Hat" hats. We've talked about rhyming words and the kids have had fun "helping" to read the books by filling in the rhyming words at the end of each sentence. In honor of St. Patrick's Day we learned about Rainbows and Colors. We also had fun making GREEN eggs and enjoyed visits from some tricky lephrecans.
